South Georgia Youth Orchestra is proving what’s old can be made new again at the Thomasville Center for the Arts this spring. 

Under the leadership of Tallahassee’s celebrated cellist Dr. Boyan Bonev, budding youth musicians (grades 6-12) will continue exploring the rich history of classical music and their own creative potential through group performance.

Spring Semester
Mondays | 4-6 pm | Grades 6-12
January 13 – May 11
$75 per month, per student

No audition is necessary but aspiring musicians interested in strings, winds, brass and percussions are encouraged to apply. South Georgia Youth Orchestra’s spring season will culminate on Monday, May 11 with a concert at the Center’s historic theater.


Summer Camp

June 1-5 | 8 am – noon | Ages 9+ | $150 per student
Young musicians will work to explore music, history, culture, and their own creative potential
with Dr. Boyan Bonev at this camp for string instruments.

South Georgia Youth Orchestra is based at Thomasville Center for the Arts at 600 East Washington Street. Free bus transportation from Thomasville City and Thomas County schools is provided courtesy of the school systems.
