UnVacant Lot Aerial AFTER NEA Grant

A Public Art Experience
Powered By:

Tree huggers is a Public Art Installation created for the purpose of educating future generations on the importance of managing, sustaining, conserving, and maintaining our forests at all levels.

This collaboration between Thomasville Center for the Arts and Brookwood School’s Foundations of Innovation studio is the first installation in the newly renovated UnVacant Lot. Tree Huggers was created under the direction of Brookwood faculty members Rob Clendenin and Josh Hanke, Center artists-in-residence Sarah Painter (painter) and Robert Copper (sculptor), and the Center’s Public Art Director Darlene Crosby Taylor.

October 5 – December 10th

This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. To find out more about how the National Endowment for the Arts grants impact invidivudals and communities, visit
