The Georgia Watercolor Society promotes and advances the art of watercolor painting as a rich and vibrant medium in the state of Georgia. It also provides support and assistance for its members and others endeavoring in the field of watercolor painting. Thomasville Center for the Arts is proud to host the GWS 2023 exhibition juried by Iain Stewart.

Through an investigative process of map-drawing in her youth, contemporary artist Laura De Valencia developed a unique connection with brders, land, and water. Drawing maps has always given her insight and an intuitive understanding of how surveyed geographical features were manually depicted through lines, grids, and geomentry — elements that later emerged formally in her paintings.
