June + July 2021

Make plans for your child to join us this summer as we become curious about various art and illustrations! Whether performing on stage, deconstructing a self-portrait or animating a short video, all of our summer camp options encourage artistic expression and creative community with other young artists.

Storybook Workshop
July 9, 16, 23, 30
9am – noon
Ages 4 – 9

Jessica Barfield highlights a different children’s book each day of camp and extends the story with multiple ways to create art – using both traditional supplies and found materials.

Portraits Deconstructed
July 12 – 16

9am – noon
Ages 10 – 14

Taking inspiration from various artists, Hannah Ruff Bishop guides campers to deconstruct portraits using simple forms and color palettes.

Acting for Animation
July 12 – 16
2- 5pm
Ages 10 – 14

Campers will learn how personality and character traits can translate to an inanimate drawing to convince the audience the creation is actually thinking and acting for itself.

This program is supported in part by Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. Georgia Council for the Arts also receives support from its partner agency – the National Endowment for the Arts.
