Art In Schools

The Center partners with Atlanta-based ArtsNow to be a catalyst within our community and local schools. The ArtsNow program provides professional learning opportunities, resources and workshops on arts integration in the classroom.

An arts integration initiative with Scott Elementary School — the City school system’s designated art-focused Pre-K through 5th school — allows students to participate in weekly instruction in the following mediums at the Center during the regular school day:

Visual Art
Students are inspired through the creative process of visual arts while exploring a variety of mediums, skills, and projects.

Students are expose to a variety of musical disciplines like chorus, percussion, boom whackers and recorders, encouraging self-expression.

Students uncover their individualism through dramatic play as they are taught the basic drama principles of blocking, articulation, projection and storytelling with the opportunity to perform for their peers.

Students learn to move in new ways as they discover the many aspects of dance in our history and the world around us while uncovering new ways to express themselves.
