Hillery Allen Barrow

Every memory I can recall is filled with a strong sense of awareness and curiosity of my visual surroundings. I am constantly drawn to the choreographically contrasts of light and color and how it portrays the world we see. I create art to capture this view and feed my never-ending curiosity of our visual world.

Talent, in my opinion, is achieved not by being born but by learning, trying, making (many) mistakes, and passionately never giving up (even after quitting). With that being said, I love to teach art classes to make art as accessible (and fun) to everyone as it was for me. Even if you can’t draw a stick figure’, I can show you how to paint and have a good time with art.

I took many art classes when I was young and I promise you I wasn’t that great! I really learned to refine my skills and dedication for art at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fine Arts and also with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (the latter is really my fall back in case you don’t buy my art).

  • Intro to Acrylics with Laura

Laura Patrick

Laura Patrick was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. At an early age, she was drawn to art and was always creating. She studied fine art in college and spent 10 years honing her craft in New York City. Laura became the first female art director for an award-winning Manhattan design firm, where she partnered with some of the world’s top brands.
Laura and her family live in North Florida and love to be outdoors exploring wild beaches,
fishing, hunting for shells and soaking up nature’s beauty. Each of these experiences is woven
into the pieces of art she creates. Coastal pieces, abstracts, home and pet portraits and more.
Gulls overhead, spoonbill in flight, sunsets over marshlands, oyster patterns and colors, swaying palms, bright lines in the sky over crashing waves. Capturing the beauty in these small moments is an ever evolving challenge for Laura, and she truly gets so much out of creating these treasures for others. Her art exhibits and painting commissions span from New York City to Los Angeles; Portland, Maine to Jacksonville, Florida.

As a holistic health practitioner and licensed therapist, I am absolutely fascinated by
transformation and deeply rooted in the mindfulness practice. I believe being fully present in
the moment, is one of the most powerful practices for healing and growth. My work blends
traditional and holistic modalities; including aromatherapy and intentional candle making. I
believe we already hold what we need within us to become our best selves. With nearly two
decades of experience guiding others through life’s complexities, I became a veteran, author
and poet. I am also the founding facilitator of Sage and Cinnamon Wellness Initiatives, based in Thomasville, Ga, where we promote peace and personal empowerment. It’s my goal to create spaces that cultivates sacred creativity, using the mediums that nature abundantly provides us.
