Resilient Expression is a short film series by filmmaker Parker Watt spotlighting Ukrainian artists living in Estonia and exploring how art fosters healing, cultural preservation, and connection in the aftermath of war. The screening includes an introduction, intermission, post-film Q&A, and light refreshments, and is presented with the participation of Covey Film Festival.

A Night in the Galleries

Welcome one and all to a night of fun and games as we slide into the unofficial start of summer!

Assemble your squad because we have a trio of tournaments sure to please both the casual and the competitive:

·       Pictionary with a Twist

Plus sips and snacks to keep you going as your squad earns points toward the final tally and trophy presentation!

Doors open at 6 pm, games start at 6:30.

Flying solo or prefer to go at your own pace? All are welcome to view three floors of exhibitions on view and enjoy refreshments and a curated playlist from 6 pm to 8 pm.

A quarterly community dinner celebrating the art of intentional gathering. Enjoy thoughtful conversation and curated food and drink as we build a community around one big table. Guests will gather at a long table in the Center’s Main Gallery to share a meal, engage in meaningful conversation, and enjoy the current exhibit as a backdrop. After dinner, everyone is invited to participate in a fun, collaborative art project.

Join Ink Portal, the first Wednesday of every month for a welcoming space for teens and adults to write, workshop, and explore literature together. Led by a local writer or educator, each monthly session includes guided writing time, group discussion, and community reading.

Held in the Center’s Parker Poe Library Gallery, Ink Portal encourages creativity, connection, and opportunities for feedback and publication. Free and open to the public.

Get ready for a night of art, community, and celebration! Join us for the opening reception of this year’s Collective Exhibition, happening June 4th from 5:30–7:30pm in the Main Galleries at Thomasville Center for the Arts.

This year’s theme honors the Thomas County bicentennial with 200 pieces for 200 years — a vibrant showcase of creativity that reflects the stories, spirit, and soul of our community.

Come celebrate our local artists and the works that capture what makes Thomasville extraordinary: its history, its culture, and the people and places we cherish. We’d love to see you there! This event is FREE and open to the public.

Join artist-instructor Laura Patrick for a morning of painting and community.
Participants will turn a blank canvas into a work of art creating their own 8″ x 10″ painting. No prior painting experience is needed! We will experiment with brushes and color learning to mix acrylics and achieve different line weights and shapes.

Ink Portal Intensive is a three-day immersive workshop devoted to the heart and essence of creative writing. Building on the spirit of our monthly gatherings that began in August 2024, this extended experience invites folks of all ages and backgrounds who share a love for literary arts to come together at TCA to connect, write, and share.

Over the course of three days, participants will slow down, dig deeper into their creative practice, and build meaningful connections in a warm, welcoming community space. Whether you are brand new to creative writing or a published author, you’ll leave feeling creatively nourished, inspired, and supported.

Each day includes:

• a thoughtful mix of curated readings
• dedicated writing workshop time
• supportive feedback circles
• fun, creative, laid‑back opportunities for connection

This is a space to get inspired, flex your writing brain, and deepen your relationship with your own voice—together.

This class is perfect for both beginners and those looking to refresh their watercolor skills. We’ll explore a variety of subjects, from vibrant florals to serene landscapes, allowing you to experiment and find your unique style.
What you’ll learn: Essential watercolor techniques: brush strokes, color mixing, layering, and washes; Building confidence in handling watercolor paints; Creating depth and dimension in your paintings; Exploring different subject matter to inspire your creativity.
No previous experience is necessary! All materials will be provided. Join us for a fun and relaxing atmosphere where you can let your imagination flow.

Join us for a workshop series where you will build, paper mâché, and paint your own creature creation under the guidance of David Junker, sculptor of many amazing creations seen in the UnVacant Lot and around town.
This workshop will take place in the adult studio of the Center, over 3 consecutive afternoons:
