About the Event
Let’s Play! will feature a 6-week public art installation (March 3 – April 14) in downtown Thomasville, with boundless opportunities for play, larger-than-life Monopoly-inspired art, and design, and will ultimately inspire you to dream, take chances, and create the things you imagine.
In addition to the public art, Thomasville Center for the Arts will introduce THOMopoly, our version of Monopoly, that will focus on the creative entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers in our downtown and Creative District. THOMopoly will drive the player to our neighborhood and encourage “playing together.”
EXPLORE | Chance Cards
Chance cards in Monopoly are the cards that make you pay – and move you forward. In our game, Chance cards will be called EXPLORE cards and will capture the “places to go and things to see” in downtown Thomasville. $250 sponsorship.
Example: Head to Jonah’s for fish & grits – pay $50!
GIVE | Community Chest Cards
Community Chest cards in the original Monopoly represented a welfare organization and was likely to give you money. In our game, Community Chest cards will be GIVE cards and capture the “spirit of giving” that Thomasville has by honoring our local non-profits and charities we support. $250 sponsorship.
Example: You adopted a pet at the Humane Society – collect $200!
