youth arts month | MARCH

Youth Arts Month is an annual observance each March to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. Administered nationally by the Council for Art Education (CAE), Youth Arts Month is a celebration of the visual arts! Student exhibitions, public artworks, art festivals, and school events raise awareness and support of the visual arts.

Public Art Exhibition

Spilled Paint | David Junker
Exhibition | March 1 – August 1, 2024
Under the Oaks | Washington Street

Inspired by the “joy of giving to others”, David Junker creates Spilled Paint as an intro to Spring and a celebration of the Visual Arts. This whimsical installation will educate kids on how to “rub red and yellow to make orange”, and other basic paint-mixing skills. Pleasing to the eye for both youth and adults, this colorful piece invites the public to see more.

Junker enjoys any medium from pencil and ink to acrylic and paper maché, where his joy shines in the animals he creates. David also enjoys illustration and has illustrated 3 books. He loves to share his God-given gift with others and bring joy to their heart, as well as teaching art, especially budding artists at church and home school.
