Resilient Expression: Ukrainian Artists in Estonia

Resilient Expression is a short film series by filmmaker Parker Watt spotlighting Ukrainian artists living in Estonia and exploring how art fosters healing, cultural preservation, and connection in the aftermath of war. The screening includes an introduction, intermission, post-film Q&A, and light refreshments, and is presented with the participation of Covey Film Festival.

Forty years ago, Parker Poe helped establish what is now the Thomasville Center for the Arts and later gifted his art collection, forming the foundation of its permanent collection. This exhibition highlights select works by artists he championed, celebrating his lasting impact on the Center and Thomasville’s cultural life.

 

Rediscovered Treasures: The Parker Poe Collection at 40 is the signature exhibition celebrating Thomasville Center for the Arts’ 40th Anniversary.

Friends and Stars, founded by Dixie Lee Hedrington-Miller, showcases artwork created by artists with disabilities. In this welcoming, home-away-from-home studio, every artist is encouraged, celebrated, and recognized as a star—regardless of skill level or experience. Through Dixie’s guidance, creativity becomes a powerful form of self-expression, confidence, and joy, reflected in each piece on view. This inspiring exhibit celebrates the creativity, talent, and unique perspectives of these exceptional students.
