Artist Talk with Photojournalist Richard Bickel

Friday, August 21 | 12:00 – 1:00pm

Join us for an unforgettable artist talk and presentation with Richard Bickel, the award‑winning American photographer and photojournalist whose work has carried him across more than 70 countries and into the pages of the world’s most influential publications.

Known for his striking ability to capture humanity with honesty, grit, and resilience, Bickel brings decades of global storytelling to Thomasville Center for the Arts in his exhibition No Borders, on exhibit in the Main Gallery August 20-October 30, 2026.

In this artist talk, Bickel will share the stories behind some of his most compelling images—moments shaped by conflict, celebration, resilience, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

As an extension of this exhibition, the Center will be collecting donations for the Center for Cuban Studies (CCS), an organization raising awareness of Cuban culture and the Cuban people. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a raffle, with all proceeds benefiting CCS in support of basic needs in Cuba.

Free and open to the public; RSVP appreciated.

Thomasville Center for the Arts is a Blue Star Museum!

We are proud and grateful to once again participate in the Blue Star Museums program, offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and their families from Armed Forces Day (May 16) through Labor Day. It is an honor to welcome and celebrate those who serve our country by providing opportunities to connect with the arts, creativity, and community throughout the summer season.
